I have the 5,1 mac Pro and I guess Mohave OSX wont be supported right?
I saw this article
https://appleinsider.com/articles/1...de-plug-play-support-for-htc-vive-pro-headset and wondering what your take is on minimum specs requirements.

I have never owned a VR device so just looking around and figuring it out.

I believe a 5,1 (with a "correct" GPU installed) should be OK to run 10.14 and drive a VR.

I have the Vive (not the Pro version). I ran it briefly on a 5,1 12 core max out on RAM, under Bootcamp (Win10) until I bought a dedicated i7 machine with a 1070 GPU. The bottleneck on the Mac was the flashed GTX 970. Probably the most accurate answer, until Mojave is released, is that we don't know what limitations we'll encounter. But h9826790 is correct. The GPU is the critical piece of the puzzle for VR.

For anyone wanting to test their system, I strongly recommend the SteamVR performance app over the Oculus app. The former actually does a stress test on your system. The latter only looks at your configuration and comments on whether or not it meets the Oculus manufactures recommendations which is something you can get off of the Oculus website without installing an app.
