has anyone ever done buisness through tipaint?
I ordered the touch up paint in february, the order went through for 30 some odd dollars on my credit card, and i have not recieved my order. I have emailed them MULTIPLE times, and have not recieved any response.
EDIT* does anyone know any other method i can go through to touch up the scratches on my aluminum powerbook?

IMHO, I wouldn't use it.

It looks very fake - they don't even have an image of their product! That's just a Photoshop mockup.

Some credit card companies have insurance against scams - contact yours and see if they'll do anything. (To be honest, you probably won't get your $30 back, but it's worth a shot.)

Look here and search for "tipaint". It doesn't look good... lots of complaints.

Call the credit card company and see if there's anything they can do about it. Don't bother trying to get the product if it hasn't shipped yet.

BTW, the address is valid... but it doesn't mean there's anyone there from TiPaint.

After doing some digging, it appears the address, 2108 North Pacific St., is an apartment building - not an office building.

Which means either the original creator chose it at random, or that's where (s)he lives. I sincerely doubt it's a legitimate business though.

With it being out of an apartment and looking fishy and having lots of complaints, I wouldn't bet on it being a legitimate business.

I have a picture - it's almost done uploading. I'll edit it in when I'm done.

i like how it says actual unretouched pictures? does that mean there touched the pictures but then did not retouch them?

Its not a fraud, do a search for "tipaint" in the forums here and you'll find plenty of threads about it with actual user accounts. It doesn't seem to be a very good if legitimate product however, some of the reports said it took over a month to arive and it acted more like cheap mail polish when they used it.

It took Daystar about six months to get an order of new Tipaint for me. Maybe it is just a delivery thing.

every time i email them, it sends back a delivery failure. I cant leave mail, which either means, (i think) the mailbox is full, or its inactive.
If either of these are correct, than i guess its a solid hint that im not going to be getting my product.

So another question is, has anyone ever tried switching cases? I have seen empty cases for the powerbook for sale for pretty cheap, but i have never taken the machine apart to see how easily the board and everything can be removed.
Has anyone ever done this? Do they recommend doing this?

I personally have never used it, or the business.

However, they are (or once were) legitimate. As the website states, the product was featured in those magazines (I at least remember reading about it). I'm not vouching for them, but they (at one point) were not a fraud.

Imagine getting your paint in a few years when you've forgotten all about it.

I don't doubt it was once a legitimate company, but there are complaints about them.
