Huawei mate 20 absolutely wrecks Apple in benchmarks

Besides performance the Mate 20 is also going to have 3 cameras and under display finger scanner 2 things no iphone has
I’m pretty sure iPhone 2018 will be similar or better than this phone at GeekBench.

This phone hasn't even come out yet. Based on the rumors, it will have a single front camera and dual rear cameras, which the 7S Plus, the 8 Plus, and the X (as well as many other Android phones) already have. I haven't seen any site claim that it will have an in-display fingerprint reader. It's not due until Q3-2018, so even if we can conclude it's a fast phone based on this one unsubstantiated benchmark, the next iPhone will be just around the corner to counter.
Not that having the fastest phone in the world means much anyway. If my phone does what I need, I'm happy with it.

Oh joy. Somebody made an account, today, to brag about a phone that isn't out and how it's going to be so much better than the iPhone based on pointless benchmarks. This is truly an interesting and new discussion of much value.

Except it's in a pointless way. Benchmarks mean nothing when Apple wins and nothing when some Android maker wins. They're artificial tests that don't really show how a phone is going to perform because each of them only focuses on a single piece of a much bigger puzzle. They have even less merit than the guy who opens up 30 apps to see which one has to refresh the most, which is already on thin ice due to how people don't use their phones like that.
But will angry birds be snappier?
Will I be able to type a message without lag? Change songs without delay?

I can already do those things with the P20 Pro and the Kirin 970. So I suppose the answer should be yes.
Newsflash: smartphone released in 2018 has better specs than smartphone released in 2017. Pictures at 11.

What an arbitrary pointless way to measure a phones (or computers) performance.
Also in that relation, the iPhone x is the far better phone since it costs more I mean the higher the numbers the better right?
Imho benchmarks are nothing more then a gimmick who think higher numbers are better.
Sorry this was not directed at the op, just at the benchmark being the standard measurements just like the iPhone being the standard measurement. Dxo mark is kind of up there as well.
In photography there is a saying that says quit pixel peeping and go out and take photos!

I'd love to buy one myself but neither Verizon and possibly AT&T won't be carrying it so I guess I'm going to have to live with my fully functional and still horribly capable iPhone 7plus that at least will still be getting OS updates in 3 years time (given past performance) and still worth a good chunk of change, despite its age.
