I loved my mate 9 and when my contract came for renewal then made sense to go for mate 10 pro?

Well I'm not as impressed as with the mate 9.
Yes bigger screen in a smaller case. Yes better camera. Better specs.

BUT...

Battery lasts less time than the mate 9. I had the 10 pro for almost a month now as had time to work out the battery life. It's up to 2 days on the 10, where as on the 9 can get 2 and half to 3 days doing same things.

I get bigger screen and such so gonna use more power.
Still a decent run time as I do play boom beach and clash of clans.
Fair bit of facebook and instagram etc.

Still good phone.

But the 9 had slight edge in battery and slightly easier to hold as the 10 is smaller and thinner.

But they are not deal breakers.
the 10 pro has 128GB built in and no SD slot.

my 9 has 32GB and I put a 128GB card in. I never used it all.
The 9 also charged faster than the 10 pro, although the 10 pro still charges quite fast compared to my fiancee iphone SE and 8+

Greater screen res and extra 2GB ram does not make a huge difference in everyday use in the 10 over the 9.

the mate 10 has no headphone jack but I never used it anyway. Seems more phones are loosing the port anyway. came with headphone port adaptor in box for the usb c port.
Mate 9 has 3.5mm port and adaptor in box to convert the usb c to micro b for legacy charger/accessories.

One good thing is setting up new phone, just use the clone phone app and everything, settings and all was copied over to new phone in 10-15 mins!

I never got to use a Mate9 thoroughly but I lived the Mate10 Pro when I had it for review, it was a great experience I have to say.

The Mate10 Pro seems to be built for the masses hence the smaller profile with smaller battery I guess, but it does still blow most of its competitors out the water in battery life.

Hopefully the Mate20 Pro brings back the more legendary Mate9 type battery life and MicroSD slit at least.
