Hi

I've upgraded my boot drive to a 970 Pro on a Kyro adaptor. Now the expansion slot fan revs up at the slightest load and iStat is recording a quadruple increase in RPM. The power supply fan has doubled in RPM. All other fans have remained the same.

Over the last 30 days these two fans have remained constant whether under load or not.

I've reset the PRAM but so far to no avail.

Is this normal behaviour? Does the 970 draw more power and require more cooling?

Thanks.

Edit: I did remove the expansion slots fan a while back to clean it. Does anyone know if this could be the issue and is there a procedure you need to follow when removing and replacing fans in the 5,1?

Thanks.

Update:

After a couple of days the two problematic fans now appear to have calmed down. Must just have been the settling down of a freshly cloned system.
