CandyBar, the venerable icon manager from earlier versions of the Mac operating system, has been updated to work on Apple Silicon and macOS Big Sur and Monterey. CandyBar development was abandoned 10 years ago and the app was made free. It continued to work, but performance degraded noticeably with more recent versions of macOS. For example, it still works on Mojave but it is very slow and very crash prone. But IconFactory decided to fix a bunch of bugs and make it work on Apple Silicon.

Behold!

CandyBar – Sugar Free Edition™

So go get yourself some icons from Iconfactory or macOS Icons and load up CandyBar with them.
