Why is there such a huge price difference with the 2.8GHz C2D Extreme iMac on Amazon? Their price is $2799 whereas the Apple Store's price is $2299. Am I missing something?

Because that is not Amazon's price, it is from a vendor that sells through Amazon. Why it is so exorbitant is admittedly a mystery.

I just can't figure out why they would even bother trying to sell at a price that high when clearly every other major retailer has a price that is $500 lower, including Apple.
