Hey guys,

I've been having a problem recently with my iMac at work. I'm running Jag on it and accessing the 'net through a proxy server.

Anyway, all of a sudden I can't use any website which requires me to send something "out". For example, I can't buy stuff off Amazon because it won't let me enter my cc nuber or password and can't get into web based email accounts because of the password issue. (To clarify: I can enter the information, but once I try to send it, my browser will just run until you get the "could not access for over a minute" message.)

It's not just Safari either. iSynch won't work because it can't log into .mac and MSN Messenger won't let me log in either. I also can't access anything on Explorer either.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Sounds like something is blocking SSL transfers. Talk to the IT guy at work, I think your proxy is likely the culprit.

Thanks for the help.

I'll check with him. Unfortunatly, he's a windows guy and doesn't know much about Macs. He keeps insisting it's something on my side because other macs can use, say, MSN messenger.

One other thing, whenever I can't log on to something, safari tells me it's a “Posix error 60”.

Huh?
