so with the announcment of the hulu Desktop app and rumors ealrier that hulu is working on a app for the iphone could we possibly see a app within weeks? im starting to think that may be a possiblity im thinking hulu is wating for 3.0 to come out to take advantage of the new video specs from the 3.0 sdk but i still think we will hopefully get something what do you guys think?

oh go check out the hulu desktop app its really awsome too.

If the desktop application is a sign of things to come then there's definite scope for a rumour in this general area, there might be licencing issues though that they are going through, but I suppose it could just be waiting for 3.0 to come out like you said. Anyway it would be good to see, now all we need is for them to make Hulu available in Britain and then we'd be sorted :)

Its gotta be over 3G though. Must have the 3G for me to buy thee.

well with atts stingy poilcy twards that dont get ur hopes up but hey there is always jailbreak im sure they will have a work around.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A312g Safari/528.16)

Hulu Desktop requires Flash though. That being released shouldn't be a sign.

A Hulu app would be awesome. I just wonder if they would be able to do it over 3G. It wouldn't be streaming live video like the Slingplayer. It would be more like Youtube and that does work.

Would they have to encode their video any different than it already is?

Absolute battery murderer. High quality video streaming? Think YouTube battery usage, then multiply by two.

(I still want it)

You guys should check out the slingbox. You just need to buy the box and hook it up and then you can access your Tivo programming at home or stream live tv to your iphone. Very cool!

I think a Hulu app is unlikely. I think the BBC put in an iPlayer app a long time ago and it never got approved. Also neither O2 or AT&T would never approve this over 3G.

Err... this isn't true. The BBC has never made an iPlayer app.

Hulu are very unlikely to launch an app either, but it's because getting mobile content licencing sorted out is too hard and not worth the hassle.
