Since there is an "app for that" for the iPhone, iPad, etc. when (if ever) will HULU be available on ATV?

Probably never. They'd most likely prefer you purchase those episodes from Apple.

An appropriate followup question would be: what about Netflix? They provide movies and TV show that Apple also provides. In this case, I think Netflix was included because it has deeper market penetration and therefore greater importance to prospective consumers. In short, you want Netflix streaming on your set top box or customers will not consider your product worthwhile.

But that's just my opinion and Apple could add Hulu (or more likely Hulu Plus) to their lineup tomorrow.

The evil corporate overlords at Hulu have long made it abundently clear that they DO NOT want the free version of Hulu to be viewed on anything other than a computer monitor screen.

Hulu+ (the pay version), is what you will be seeing on settop boxes like Apple TV in the near future. Whether Apple will go with Hulu+ and allow streaming of another competitor to iTunes content on their box is a question I think most people will answer in the negative (unless Apple can make $ from doing so...):D
