I was recently hired at an organization that almost exclusively uses Apple products. They used to use iPods but now they are just sitting in a storage room. They have cases full of these things and no idea what to do with them. No one wants to buy them and I want to try and repurpose them. I've looked over a site called Instructables that have a lot of DIY tutorials and ideas but nothing for hundreds of old iPods. What can you do with a bunch of old iPods?

though thinking about it the batteries are most likely toast after sitting so long.

How old are we talking? What condition?
About 10 years. Model number is A1288. They are in decent condition, some wear and tear. They also have the schools name and number engraved on the back, though.

A1288 is actually a second generation iPod Touch 8, 16, or 32GB. It's outdated as an IOS device (can only run up to iOS 4.2), but it can still play music as well as it ever could.

Heck yea! Depending on the condition of the battery, these still work for music and will still sync with iTunes.

Batteries are still available if needed:

So it's not for the faint of heart but there are people who could recondition these for fun and a bit of profit. As a person who owns a few Nanos (2/4/2), there's a market for the 2nd G Touch 8/16/32 — whatever you have.

Yeah, I still use my iPod Touch 1st Gen for music, TV shows and podcasts. Jailbroken on 3.1.3. Runs old games very well. Battery still decent. A lot better than my 4th gens. And the dodgy 6th gen on iOS 12. Still pleased with it. good investment. Actually, I'm using it right now to listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers, lol.

I'd buy a couple if they were in good shape! :p

They're still great music players, and iPod touches are good for various other things as well, including internet, if you're patient, and watching movies or tv shows.

Post some pictures if you can!
