Hunting for the missing / hidden icons

Im a relatively new user to the Mac (was previously using windoze), and I absolutely love it!

One thing that irks me though is that whenever I launch a program that uses a long string of top menu bar, some icons just disappear! An example:

This also happens when screen resolution is changed lower - for example, when I'm connected to an external projector for presentation purposes.

Question: How do access these "missing" or "hidden" icons?

To access the missing icons, click on another window or your desktop. There's only so much space on the Menu Bar and if the active app's menu is larger, it will hide some icons. You can also manage your Menu Bar icons with an app like Bartender.

Any idea what app has the shortest menu bar?

PS. Clicking on the desktop defaults "Finder" for me. And it's still too long with some icons hidden away when I'm connected to an external projector.

You just have to click on different apps to see what they show. For example, I have an app called All2MP3 that only shows "All2MP3", "File" and "Help" on the menu bar.

It sounds like you need to use something like Bartender to reduce the number of icons, or simply elect not to have as many.

Found a nice little freeware called "AccessMenuBarApps"! Does EXACTLY what I wished for!
