Hi,
The husband hates iOS 10. I was going to reinstall iOS 9, but there is NO backup for when he had 10. Is there any way to find and install a copy of 9? Or, should I just tell him, "Suck it up, Petunia?" :)

Thanks.

If he is iphone 7 user then tell himself he is screwed up by Apple.
If he is not, then tell him he can restore to iOS 9.3.5 right now but he needs to start over.

It's an iPhone 6.
Have NOT been able to find a downloadable copy-and there is NO backup. (apparently, he never bothered to back up his phone while it was operating 9).

I have spent several hours on this, and quite honestly, reaching the end.

He's probably just allergic to change. Tell him to suck it up. In a few days, he'll get used to it and wonder what all the fuss was about.

hahaha. NO. He is practically a Luddite. He won't even use his phone for his music. Has three other apps (Waze being one)--to him? this is just a necessary evil.

At least I saw the trick to make all of the notifications, etc disappear. That was his biggest pet peeve...

:)

Thanks...one question before I do this....he will lose all contacts if I downgrade this way, yes?
He will not have an iCloud Backup of his entire phone, but all contacts that were saved with that iCloud account should remain on his iCloud account regardless of the fact he doesn't have a backup. That includes Notes, Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Safari history, credit cards on the Wallet app, and of course his Contacts. When his phone is restored, he will have the option to sign into an iCloud account. After he signs in, he will set it up as a new device. From there it will send you to the home screen where you can go into settings and enable all of those things under the iCloud tab

Okay. When I look at his backup history? It says, "NEVER BACKED UP."

When he lost his phone (I found it-it had gotten run over. Long stupid story...hahaha)...I was able to get his apps and contacts by just logging into his iTunes account...That was in July....so, forgive my complete braindeadedness (I made that up, thanks), but you are saying, download iOS 9..which I am still trying to figure out how to do using the link you provided.....

I wish he would just get the hell over it. >bwahahahahahaha<

If the contacts are on iTunes then you could do it that way too. But I am not certain. I would advise him that he may lose everything on his phone if he doesn't just get over the iOS 10 update. But if you still wish to continue, here are the steps for that site:

On the site you will click on iPhone, then you will click on iPhone 6, then you will click on
iOS 9.3.5 (13G36) which is green, and then you will click on download. After it downloads you plug the iphone into your computer and open iTunes. If you are on Windows, you will hold shift down and click the Restore button. If you are on a Mac, you will hold option down and click Restore. You will then choose the IPSW file that you have downloaded. From there it will restore the phone and install iOS 9.3.5 on it.

Thanks. I will ask him what he wants to do, now that I got rid of the notifications he was getting (the today stuff).

I also just went and did a back up on my Mac of his phone...I selected "important files"-no idea what that means to iTunes...but at least it's backed up now, so if it all goes sideways, I can at least back it up from that...

You have been INFINITELY helpful. Thanks!
