I forgot my iPhone 15 pro max was already turned off but I held the power button and volume up button at the same time and it turned the phone on but after I entered my passcode, screen froze but then it unfroze a min later. then some message came up something about restarting phone, I didn’t really read since I was at work. Should I be ok? I am worried.

Not much you can do to truly harm your phone by pushing a button. Apple knows things happen. Your phone should be fine.

What i would like to know is why you would press the power button and volume button at the same time to power off your phone in the first place?

You do this to restart your phone in case it froze, not to turn it off

That’s how you bring up the shutdown screen.
