iPhone I accidently delted my appstore app on my iPhone 4 4.2.1!!

Help I just messed up my app store app on my iPhone 4 4.2.1 and I need a copy of the appstore.app quick!

Im selling this phone gevey unlocked so I need to keep it on 4.2.1 and I cant restore.

Well I didnt delete it but I needed an app to backup my contacts and since its 4.2.1 it said I need to be 4.3 or higher. So i changed my systemversion.plist from 4.2.1 to ios 7.0.3 and restarted my phone. I had the little apple logo with a progress bar at the bottomThen my appstore got messed up and the layout at the bottom changed etc and I couldnt search or anything. So I change it back to 4.2.1 in the systemversion.plist and the layout still didnt change back, still unusable. I reset all settings and that didnt work either but it did bring the layout back to the 4.2.1 one.

So what im guessing what happened was the appstore got updated or something and glitched so I need a completely stock appstore.app from 4.2.1 to replace this corrupted one.

I have shsh for 4.33, 4.35 ,5.0.1

is there anyway to extract a appstore.app from a 4.2.1 ipsw? I cant find any download links for a appstore.app from there

Or is there anyway to restore the whole phone to 4.2.1 while preserving baseband? for the gevey unlock

Use iFaith (windows only) to dump 4.2.1 SHSH blobs and then use the make custom firmware with ipsw in iFaith to make the custom firmware

Then go into pwned DFU mode and shift + click restore in iTunes. Choose the custom ipsw you made and it'll be brand new on that version. Not entirely sure about the whole backing up your contacts though

Likewise, you can also update it to 5.0.1 as you have the blobs for that

Im guessing theres a option in ifaith to preserve baseband right? And this all has to be done in windows? And are you 100% this works cause ive had problems restoring with custom firmwares in the past, cause I need this phone to stay on this baseband 4.2.1

also how come it didnt say i have shsh for 4.2.1 but im on 4.2.1? Or is it just assumed i have shsh since im on 4.2.1 firmware

also to make it easier do you know anyway to get the appstore.app from an ipsw firmware file? without restoring

You can try to logout off all apple account, restart an try again.

You cannot extract pieces from an IPSW as it is encrypted.

Redsn0w and sn0wbreeze both preserve the BB. Sn0wbreeze is windows only and does it automatically. Redsn0w will ask ik you would like to preserve the BB.

If you have to restore i would go to 5.01 as you have SHSH's for that, which is a far superior firmware.
Do check with redsn0w or iFaith if you have full and valid SHSH/APticket.

Your Gevey should work on iOS 5.01 on the 02.10.04/3.10.01 BB together with the furious mod from Cydia, check on that though.
