I just got back from an at&t store for the first time to look at the iPhone. You probably cant believe i am just now going to look at one, but i just havent had the time. I cant get one at the moment but i really want one. Let me just say LOVE it. i want one even more. One of the reasons i wanted to go was to kinda get it off my shoulder to stop thinking about it and maybe if i went to go see it, it would make me want one less....well i was wrong.

anways.

i have a question.

maybe it was just the instore models....but the iPhones in the at&t store were very non responsive at times, etc. I mean everything was great but at times, alot of times, they were non responsive...they didnt go into landscape mode at times, etc. I know i know its b/c they are instore models. But just wondering if any of yalls iPhones are non responsive b/c i mean these were REALLY non responsive. But im guessing yall's are not.

ANYWAY the iPhone is great and hope i can get one soon.

Also one more question..while in safari at the bottom there is a little bar with bookmarks, etc. can that go away, or is it always there?

Thanks! :apple:

You have to hold the iPhone so it's not parallel to the ground if you want it to be responsive to your portrait <--> landscape changes. If you spin it while it sits on a table for example, it probably won't change display modes. Hold it in your hand at an angle like you would a book if you were reading it, and you'll find it's pretty responsive to your changes. It won't be as responsive as the commercials / videos would lead you to believe though. You really have to learn the sweet spot to get your iPhone to flip display modes with the least amount of lag.

I have no illusion that if I go check one out I'll stop desiring it - I know it will onyl make me want one more. Therefore I am staying away until it gets closer to February when my contract with VW is up.

Go and fiddle... touch... molest... you know you want to. :p

That said, count me in as another one who had really little to no interest in the iPhone...

... until I actually got to hold and play with one. The Saturday after it launched (er, so the next day). It really is terribly slick and easy. If it were cheaper (much much cheaper) I'd plead for my mom to get one for herself seeing as she can't operate normal cell phones. This would be a godsend. :D

:edit: Note, I don't have one. I just... dream about having one. Hah. I'm so lame. *hangs head in shame*

haha im with you guys. i want one. just cant get one at the moment. really want one though. random question....

do you think apple will add more apps...real apps...to the home screen? can that be through a software update?

I took my mac book pro in because there was a hair in the screen, i have no clue how, but while I was there I saw they had tons of the iphones left ( this was the saturday morning after release date) I played with one while waiting to be called to the genius bar.....I was hooked, I put my treo 755p into my car, and it has been there ever sense. I will keep it until the iphone can do real time gps, and tether to my laptop.

My only regret is the ATT service, it may make me cancel the cell service, and just use the iphone as an ipod/wifi product

I would assume they will... plus polish some of the apps already on the phone, add features, etc.

Remember that Landscape mode doesn't work for every function yet. Which I'm sure will change with a Software update. Landscape works in: iPod, Safari, Photos, and Camera.
