I am getting a messenger bag for my MBA, but do I also need sleeve?

I currently have the sf bags suede jacket sleeve for my macbook air. And I put that in my messenger bag. I also have a wrapsol skin on it. It's a nice and pricey laptop, doesn't hurt to protect it. Lol.
I use the sfbags sleeve on the my new 11.6 and prior to that I used the Radtech sleevz on my older 13" Air. Both of which, I then put in my messenger bag. I am a freak about not scuffing the Air.
Also, I sold my last Air to somebody who's primary comment was "wow, this looks new!" That was the main reason she bought it. It did look new and I use my laptops daily.
So, yes... sleeve it and messenger bag it!

I bought a Colcasac sleeve for my messenger bag, but decided that a wrapsol skin should protect from scratches.
I've got the Chrome Citizen Messenger.

I'm still getting a sleeve to protect the MBA unless I can fit in somehow into one of the many empty slots. Even then, Ill get a sleeve. Must more easier to carry around then an entire messenger bag if I am just going out for a short distance.

I freely admit being addicted and owning lots of different Mac laptops so as to have choices depending on what I'm working on and where. Likewise I have a selection of sleeves and bags for variety. When using any bag without a dedicated properly sized & padded laptop compartment, I always use a sleeve. It's really paid off. My laptops see a lot of use and go everywhere with me. There's nothing like keeping them looking like new.

I have the Fossil Desperado messenger bag. I do not presently have a sleeve, but will likely get one when something in the $30-40 range shows up from InCase. There is plenty of room, as the MBA 11 really gets swallowed up.

I hope so. Lets see what they reply. If the amount was deducted, it should have gone through.
I don't believe in all that protection myself, and I don't feel I am overly careful with my MBAs. I don't even use a proper laptop bag, as I find a designer tote with a magazine or a few papers against the lid is good enough.
I also see people buying these plastic cases and invisible shield that completely ruin the thinness, weight, and feel of the MBA and it's ultra-mobile aluminum awesomeness. In reality, these things are made for being used without the extras. I wouldn't enjoy my MBAs nearly as much if I had to ruin the experience by going with overcautious methods of ensuring a scratch free MBA.
If you have a bag coming on the way, ignore the rest and just enjoy your MBA and love the aluminum thin design for exactly what it is without altering it for care. People say they get better resale value by doing these things, but it truly takes away from the experience to be overcautious and too worried to enjoy the MBA in all its glory.
But those are just my thoughts, and I am surely not going to say everyone should ignore those things... it all depends on the person. If I were prone to dropping these, I would carry them in an inch thick of rubber with a few sleeves, and a duffel bag with bubble wrap. Maybe one should just buy a plastic WhiteBook and not worry about having an Air in the first place though.

i for myself take good care of my equipment but do not overly pamper it.
Sleeveless on all of my stuff! As a designer (and developer) i really enjoy the aesthetics of a MBA or iPhone and the haptic to go with devices like this!
A satchel made by Ally Capellino, an London based designer is all i use. Just slide the MBA into the laptop compartment and this is it!

Right, but you have a bag with a padded laptop area. People are noting that you should use a sleeve when you DON'T have a dedicated padded area for the laptop in your bag.
