I am so amazed by my iMac

I have a fantom drive where a friend put my complete old hard drive from my old HP computer that I donated to a local democratic campaign in 06. I didn't know where all my old photos were on the machine and iPhoto transfered ever photo on that hard drive in no time at all, all 17,000 items in less than 3 mins

I then removed all non 'real' photos because iPhoto had put them into groups of 600 but it was real easy to sort and put those that I didn't want because of iPhoto's organizational prowess, which I placed in the trash and did a secure trash empty.

My old powerbook 1.33 hz would have taken hours to do what I did in less than 15 minutes.........and I mean hours.

I love this machine and the photos I saved look better on this screen than they ever did on my old HP machine and 19' monitor.
 
So nice to hear a positive comment about the iMac for a change. Naturally all the concerns and issue posts get the most attention but it still stands that these are amazing machines both is speed and design. I smile every time I sit behind my iMac when I get home from work. Seeing as I sit being a blah Dell all day, it's refreshing to be excited about my computer again!
 
I think iPhoto is underrated

I used CS2 for detail work but if I had transfered that data there it would have taken hours to sort it out some files were just icons it had found on the storage, but iPhoto put them into groups automatically, where my old iPhoto didn't have that possibility.

I think the Macbook rocks, I bought the old one years ago for my daughter and got to play with it for two weeks before I hand delivered it to her in college and immediately broke down and bought myself a powerbook.

This machine, even though it is not as portable, I am able to easily place it on my coffee table and work off the sofa or deck table where it doesn't really look out of place because it really is CLUTTER FREE, no way I could take my old HP and do that. It is almost a laptop, but not quite.

Only had my iMac now for a little over 45 days but I really hadn't put it through its paces until today. No freeze, no spinning ball just amazing and I did it on the couch.

Negative nancies?

Well, im new, and dont even own a mac yet, but the only negative posts i have read in here are the Freezing and screen issues, the rest are posts where people ask questions, that cant be called negative really.

If people only wrote positive threads, im pretty sure the freezing problem wouldnt have been accepted by apple? or even discovered?

Negative posts helps to pinpoint user/manufacturer problems.

Positive posts helps making me even more excited to get my mac :)

Sorry for the negative post though :D
 
I have a one year old white iMac C2D 2.0ghz and I love the damn thing. But, if I had a new alum one and it was freezing as often as the folks here are reporting, I'd be a pissed off pete. :rolleyes:
