Hi all,
I have a question regarding the iPod and seeing as the folks at the Apple store where I live are clueless I figured I'd turn to you guys.
So here's my situation. I bought my girlfriend an iPod to bring her into the digital age of music, but unfortunately she isn't not very techno-savy. I have been burning her piles and piles of CDs onto my computer so as to be able to sync them for her. My questions are:
1. When installing the iPod for the first time will it let me name it as it's own device and setup which playlists I wish to upload or will it use my current iPod settings?
2. I am on a Mac, and she has a PC. Will their be any compatability issues if I sync it to my computer and then she would later sync it to hers?
3. An extension of ? 2. While I know it can be a morally ambiguous situation but would it be better/safer/easier to burn all the MP3s of her CD;s onto a DVD and transfer them to her computer that way or are there any particularly noteworthy programs for extracting the music from the iPod to her computer?
Seeing as the music is all her's I don't see anything particularly "wrong" about the situation and it would be impractical for me to have taken her computer for the week and a half it has taken to burn all her music!
So I guess my ? is would it be easiest just to transfer all her music to her computer and then install the iPod from there, or will I be able to put it all together for her and then set it up after the fact? It took a while for me to explain to her that if she wants to add new music to it she'd have to have the files on her computer anyway, but any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch
