Well, I'm an idiot. I installed flash player on my MBP out of "habit" (it's one of the first things I do when I get a new computer). After I did, it stopped working in Safari.

Then I read on a weblog somewhere that the flash player included by default with the new MBP is an intel-only pre-release version. I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work, now that I've installed the new version. I guess I overwrote it?

Anyone else ahve this issues, and figure it out?

I've got a MBP now too... but actually I broke Flash on a Powerbook G4 when I installed the external Flash player from Macromedia. Not sure how it broke, but it did. You gotta hunt for th uninstaller, I'd suggest you reboot, and then it probably still won't work. Seems that the uninstaller might disable "enable plug-ins" in Safari, which will keep the built-in flash from working. Try and and it should work.

The Intel Macs ship with a UB version of the Flash plugin. If you install Flash from Adobe/Macromedia it will overwrite the UB version with a PPC-only version as you have discovered an hence will not work in Safari unless you run Safari via Rosetta.

To get the UB version back. Either you have to reinstall OSX  or get the Program "Pacifist" (seach macupdate) and then browse your OSX DVD with Pacfist and look for something called "Flash Player.plugin". Then place it in your "Internet Plug-Ins" folder inside the "Library" folder.

If you really cant be arsed doing all that. Download the attached file. Which is the UB version from my Intel iMac.:) :D

Sorry, I have absolutely nothing to do with this thread, but I am waiting
for my Macbook stock 1.83 to arrive. But I just wanted to say that you
guys are true Mac geniuses. This will be my first Mac ever, and I am
confident that if I have any questions or concerns I know that people on
this site know what there talking about. My hat is off to you all. I am now
officially apart of the family.

Ericshcmerick, I am glad things worked out for you, you are in very good
hands here.

Thank you all, I learn new things because of you.

Thanks:)
