They said it will take a week since they have to order the video card and logic board... It was weird though maybe because he was so busy he didn't give a ****... But He plugged in the ethernet cable to connect to the network there to go online and for some reason it wouldn't connect... I told him when i first turn on my imac i have to wait a few minutes for the internet to start working for some reason... Hes like thats not good I don't think your ethernet port is working right..... So he unplugs it and writes in the report ethernet card broken and video card freeze problem replace logic board and video card..... And told me he'd call me back within 7 days to pick it up. I'll scan the paper once i get my imac back since the scanners drivers are on there.

I guess if they replace the hardware in it and it comes back working we will know its a hardware issue right?

I took mine in 10 days ago and was just called to say pick it up tomorrow.

Graphics Card has been replaced.

Please post the results of the repaired iMac. I am hoping that it will be sucessful.

Hopefully I am getting close, I brought my freezer in on the 6th and was told yesterday that it should be ready on Saturday (17th) but they have not yet received the graphics card. So, it is still anyone's guess.

Freezing 24" 2.8 iMac

Hi everyone,

I have to admit that I am a bit embarrassed to say that I was one of the people saying that my iMac was not having freezing issues awhile ago. Now...it is freezing like crazy and getting worse!?! I have called AppleCare and have an appointment tonight at my local Apple store.

It would be very interesting to see if these new logic boards and graphic cards are going to fix this. Assuming this does not fix the problem, then what?!! I hate to think that my 47 day old iMac will always have this problem.

I will post back tonight with the results of my Apple store visit.
