I had recently purchased the ATV2 with plans to jailbreak and stream videos via Plex or XBMC. I originally installed Plex and found some issues with the streaming, so I decided to switch to XBMC. I did a restore on the ATV2 and now i can no longer SSH into it. Any ideas?

$ ssh root@192.168.1.108
ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.108 port 22: Operation timed out

(I also didn't rename my ATV2, so wouldnt this line below work?)

$ ssh root@AppleTV.local
ssh: Could not resolve hostname AppleTV.local: nodename nor servname provided, or not known

When you say you've done a restore, what did you actually do? It sounds like you may have removed the jailbrake.

Yes, after running the restore from itunes, i jailbroke it again with seas0npass. Would this be something related computer side or maybe the router? I went through and opened port 22 on both TCP and UDP, but i thought that didn't much matter on a local network. I'm going to go ahead and restore the ATV2 again and rejailbreak it just to see if that helps. please continue with ideas, i really want this to work

Hmm well now I have this meesage and im not sure what to do about it

$ ssh root@192.168.1.108

The easiest way to fix the problem is to delete the known_hosts file:
rm ~/.ssh/known_hosts

Okay that fixed the latest issue, but im still unable to ssh. I've also just noticed that homesharing isn't even working for the ATV2 anymore, nothing detects the ATV2. This has to be a network error right? Im running a Linksys E1000 router and not really familiar with how to use it :/ I've been stuck with verizon routers for years and finally got a modem from them so I could have more control of my network.
