Hi all the experts out there,

After I installed OS X El Capitan Version 10.11, a very irritating problem started occurring while i'm working on my iMac. Basically, whenever i'm in full screen mode using an application (Sketchup to be exact), after a while the window will suddenly and automatically slide away and minimised on its own, revealing the windows and desktop behind. This has been repeating non-stop whenever I try to work on something in a full screen mode.

Please help me! What can I do???

Could I guess this is a software specific problem? As I know, Safari would not go back to desktop mode while in full screen mode, automatically, without user interaction.

Maybe you have a shortcut or a trackpad gesture for leaving full screen mode that you don't remember.
The only thing I can think of.

I was experiencing the same issue. I had to go without using SketchUp in fullscreen mode and use the application in its fully-maximised state instead.

Unfortunately my issue has now become much worse, as without thinking I instinctively put SketchUp into fullscreen mode again upon returning to my computer. Now the app is stuck in fullscreen mode and I cannot reveal the toolbar on any desktop or space, and I cannot exit fullscreen mode either by moving my mouse cursor to the top of the screen or by pressing Command-Control-F or Escape. I have tried many other approaches to exiting fullscreen mode with no success even after closing and re-opening the application.and even completely uninstalling it and downloading a new copy.

Without access to the toolbar, SketchUp is practically unusable. From what I've seen mentioned on other forums, it seems that the SketchUp team have a few other issues to resolve on El Capitan though nothing as serious as this issue.

Edit: I was able to get the toolbar to appear by closing and reopening SketchUp over and over again and suddenly the toolbar simply reappeared. I wish that I had some useful advice to help you solve your issue but for now I would suggest that you avoid fullscreen mode until the next SketchUp update if you depend on the application for anything important.
