I can not confirm this 100% but I have been told that an additional 8 widgets may be available from itunes to download to your iphone on the 29th. I do not know if these are going to be a free download from the itunes/iphone store or if you will have to purchase these...I have no clue how this will work.

Unless they are doing buy-from-iTunes over the air...

I still can't see how they would get a full 8 more widgets from iTunes. But frankly, Apple has more widgets up its sleeve than anyone else! :p
 
Well, I don't believe anything in the forums, but just the idea of this sounds plausible. I always thought two widgets seemed sparse. Their development is extremely easy and Apple has more than just two high quality widgets. I mean how does Flight Tracker or the new Movie widget (with Leopard) not fit perfectly with the iPhone? But I can see Apple not wanting to cram too much on the front of the iPhone for initial launch.

I think this more than probable but really inevitable.
