With iOS 13, Apple introduced easy cropping of videos in the Photos app.

I really really wish they'd bring this feature to the Mac. It's insanely useful in iOS. As it stands right now, I could either create a new project in iMovie, crop it, then export, OR AirDrop to my iPhone, crop, then send back to my Mac. I do the latter. And it just has me wondering why Apple didn't introduce this feature to Quicktime on macOS.

I'm still on Mojave, but QTP does this pretty quickly. Command-T, adjust, Save-as.

Ah - in this case the "P" stands for Player. It's the Quicktime that comes with every release. QTPro was a very useful tool, which Mac OS X left behind a long time ago.

You can also import into iMovie and use the pinch to zoom in cropping tool. It's pretty easy. Select the clip or whole movie and use two-finger pinch to resize.
