your walking out of your local at&t store or apple store with your brand new iPhone. you get home unbox it and turn it on. with all the excitement you run too show your wife, parents, siblings etc.. and all of a sudden it slips out of your hands and falls to the floor and the screen gets cracked. i know this will happen to at least one person on Friday. i just hope it isn't me. And i already feel for these people.

I certainly hope the iPhone can withstand more abuse than a drop on the ground. In which case that would be a total dealbreaker for me as the phone would become unusable in a matter of days...

It's you're and my theory on these predictions is that if you feel the need to spend that much on a phone then perhaps buying insurance is the best bet for people who may drop it. :)

AT&T isn't providing insurance on the iPhone (apparently), and AppleCare wouldn't cover that kind of damage...

The phone has been tested for these sorts of things. If anyone drops it while running to show it off... well... that is just stupid.

I doubt anyone is going to do this, and isn't even worth talking about.

And if anyone does do it, they will need to get one it.(And Apple will need to build a stronger phone)

its stupid but it will happen, personally i will be holding mine like its a bomb

 I wouldnt be holding a bomb. I am with zp2 on this. Why are we still talking about it?

because everyone in this forum is obsessed and cant seem to stop thinking about the iPhone, and don't try to deny that your not beacuse its now 12:47 AM on a Sunday Night and your making posts on how we should stop talking about it.

for what it's worth not everyone lives in the same timezone as you, and it's 9:49pm in California right now.

True, but less than a week away from launch there will be alot of useless posts.

I won't lie. At least I'll admit. I'm going to try to steal one, eBay it and make some quick cash. I love GSM w/Sim phones.

:apple:

I dont deny it, but...

...thanks for pointing that out. Of course, it is now 12:47 AM here in California. I am off to bed. This is my limit.

back in 2003 when i got my first 3rd Gen iPod, i had a dream (nightmare?) that I took it to school, dropped it on the concrete footpath, and everything inside of it spilt out all over the ground. About a year later, i dropped it on concrete, and all it got was a little nick in the corner.

and now i've forgotten the moral of my story...

ah yeah... you'll get over the baby stage eventually :)

the foggy silhouette of an iPhone flying out of some mysterious Apple fanboy's hands and cracking all over the pavement almost haunted my dreams, luckily my hand was there to cousin its fall... and give it a better home.
