My friend just happened to send me a picture today on my iPhone and it went threw!!!! I haven't hacked my phone. I had a buddy put my phone on 3.1 but that is it. I am not a developer myself but my phone is registered so I can use the updated software. My gfs phone is also 3.1 but she can't send or recieve pictures. I have sent pictures to 4 different ppl and it works like a charm. I can't believe it. I have a feeling 3.1 will be official and MMS capable very soon.

i just checked. mine is able to as well!
though i did get a carrier update from att last night. didnt think much of it at the time. thats what probably enabled it?

Or the fact that MMS works perfectly fine on 3.0.1 in virtually every other country.
It's already been shown that those with 3.1 can get MMS. We've had a number of members that got it to work after OS 3.1.

It isn't an update to the messages app, just an update to the carrier file. 3.0 already is MMS capable, but since the carrier file currently on the iPhone in the US does not have the MMS settings, the messages app doesn't show the camera or the preference in the messages panel in settings.
I didn't update carrier settings anytime recently. And that isn't my gf. Why would my gf not have seen my dog yet? Believe me or not just try it and some of you will see. I also couldn't send or recieve pictures until today and I've had 3.1 since it came out each time. It just happened. I have friends always trying to send me stuff and it never comes threw. The software cripples itself when the proper carrier file isn't in place. It's likely that the 3.1 update comes with the new AT&T carrier file. Skil, unless you're sure about something keep your trap closed. Or at least stop stating it as fact. When was the last time you were right about anything????
So we're to believe that 3.1 doesn't have in place the carrier restriction that AT&T has put on currently released software in the U.S. only? So if I have a friend download 3.0.1 from a country with MMS and send it to me to install it here, I'd get MMS on AT&T?

Which IMO means that when you go to download the iPhone update 3.1 iTunes will ensure to download the US only update that will have the ATT carrier file update.
