i cannot hear them on skype

I have a 2099 mac mini. I have attached a USB web camera but i cannot hear the other person on Skype. They can hear me but i cannot. Is it a matter of setting?

Are you sure the problems not on the other side?

In other words have you skyped someone else to verify your setup?

My camera has a mic. They can hear me but i cant hear them!

Are you sure the problem is not on their end?

Yes because i can hear them from my iMac! Could the problem be due to the fact that -in order to hear sound from my mac mini- i have connected with an RCA cable the headphones jack to the tv?
