...but Windows 7 RC runs like a dream I HAVE to use windows XP for work which I dual boot on my Macbook Pro, and it was really a rather boring experience, not to mention slow and choppy at times. But I recently installed Windows 7 RC and it is FAST and actually is easy to get around. The new task bar is very easy to switch between apps ( like the OSX dock ). The windows open very quickly and management is very neat and efficient. I have VMware fusion but decided to use it through bootcamp, which makes it run alot better I actually am enjoying windows as much as OSX for once, anyone else agree?

Windows 7 is a very very big improvement over XP. I switched to OSX because I despised XP so much back in 2006. I used Vista, but on a limited basis. It was a slight improvement over XP, but it had a lot of annoyances. Windows 7 works a lot better than the previous two OSes from Microsoft.

After a few glitches with setting windows 7 up on my iMac, I haven't had any issues with it. It is by far my favourite Microsoft OS.

I agree with your assessment and I use Win 7 running under Fusion.

Many people on this section of the board have written positively about Win 7...and, in a previous thread, I predicted that I.T orgs will adopt this OS after being bitten hard by Vista.

Is it as good as OSX? Well, its a matter of opinion but the fact that it can run on older hardware and it is very stable will make upgrading from Vista or XP relatively easy so the installed base of Windows users (i.e. 90% of existing desktop and laptop computers in the entire world) will migrate to it in droves. Apple's overall market share remains at about 6-8% and I think Win 7 will keep OSX at that percentage because Win 7 will not require any significant hardware upgrade for a massive amount of systems. BTW, I have Win 7 RC running on a 4 year old Sony Vaio with 1Gb of RAM and it is FAST and stable.
