So I switched macOS (Big Sur - MacBook Air M1) after being a Windows Fan since MS-DOS - I am happy with the decision except for a small issue. Unlike in Windows I cannot cut and paste files (move). Has anyone got a solution for this?

How are you doing cut (or copy) and paste, and are you trying to move them on the same drive or to an external or cloud drive? Have you tried holding down the option key while dragging?

This is macOS, not Windows...
copy a file to another location or drive - drag the file to new location while holding the Alt/Option key.
(If you are moving to another folder on the same drive, then the Option key is not needed, just drag and drop the file.
If you want to MOVE a file, so you only have one file, not a copy, even to another drive, again drag to the new location, while holding the Command key.
It's not the same as Window's cut and paste, but is just how macOS does the job.
