This is pretty consistent. Here's what happens. I have low battery in the evening, and I plug the iPhone in. In this case, it was actually on a MagSafe charger. I wake up in the morning, and the battery is still super low. I have no idea why. Then if I pick the phone up and charge it anywhere else at any point during the day, it will charge to full. I do NOT have optimized charging turned on. Why is it only charging to 45%? I'd appreciate any insight and help here. Thanks!

My immediate guess is there's something wrong with wherever you're charging it, either the electric plug itself or the charger. 🤔

Either change whatever you use to charge it, or charge it in a different location at night and see if it's still bad. If the problem remains, there's something really odd going on with the phone and you'd probably need to take it to the Genius Bar.

I had the same guess, but that same charger works during the day LOL. I guess you're right, though, I should probably try a different charger tonight for the same period and see what happens.

Also when testing it, is it a third party MagSafe charger, and what model iPhone do you use? 15 pro or 16 pro? Are you using a thick case such as otterbox and life proof cases? Sometimes they are too thick for wireless charging to pass through.

Double check to see if the iPhone has any cracks on the back glass, and the MagSafe magnetic attraction is strong enough. If these are evident bring it to an Apple Store to get it checked out by a Genius asap. These are signs of physical damage to the device itself.

The charger should not have any obvious signs of damage like ripped cables. If the cable is torn up or the MagSafe pad is broken, throw it out. Turn off any Charge Limits on your iPhone and any applicable Optimized Battery Charging settings. Test it via wired charging with a USB-C cable both an Apple and/or third party charger. Check for physical damage, charger issues, and software settings. If problems persist, schedule a Genius Bar appointment.
