Almost a year ago I bought my second-hand Mac mini G4 and because I wanted to optimize it I erased the entire hard drive to reinstall Mac OS X but it was problem after problem, that's even why I joined this forum but ended up abandoning the project. But the most relevant is that the Mac mini: the DVD player did not work, when trying to install Mac OS via USB it gave an error with the "essentials" package and when trying to use an external DVD player via USB, the installer also gave problems
But now there is a difference, I just bought a 44 pin IDE to SATA adapter, so I could connect the Mac Mini hard drive to my Ubuntu PC and start trying from there. I tried to copy the dmg files to the Mac hard drive and then boot it from open firmware, everything copied fine but when booting "BootX" the Apple logo appeared and then the Forbidden symbol 🚫. So I don't know what else I can try and that's why I come to ask for help to install an operating system on this Mac Mini and finish the restoration project of this
