I Can't Make My Apple Usb Modem Work!

Hi, first time post........

I just got a 2.7. that didn't come with a modem. I'm using OS 10. 4.3. Network preference does not recognize the USB modem. I've heard from other sites that a USB Modem may not work with OS 10.3. I don't know if its fact or fiction.

I have found a site where I can buy and internal modem and istall instructions. Anybody done this? Also suppose to be a external box from action tec that works??? Suggestions??

Also, don't worry if it says it won't work with 10.3, because you're not using 10.3
