when i ever i try to save an mp3 from a website or somewhere else it and then open it, nothing happens. i'll save it to my desktop and when i get info on the file it says it is a itunes file, but it wont play in itunes. when i play it it'll copy but it wont play. this used to not happen, i was able to save mp3's, but now i cant.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Your mp3s might not be getting saved right so you might want to try opening them in Quicktime if it still doesnt open then something odd could be wrong.

Will iTunes play any MP3 files? I had a problem a little while ago where a system file had become corrupt and iTunes refused to play anything.

As other poster mentioned, try it in quicktime.

when i play it from the website it will play in quicktime. i can try to play it with quicktime after i save it.

as for itunes, everything else plays fine, but when i copy said mp3 into itunes the song will show up but the length of the song is 0:00.

Just wondering how are you saving the mp3s when you save it from the site. When I do things like that I go to the page that links to the page where the file is played and I control click it and do the save as option and then it downloads the file to the desktop.

You should edit the title to this thread. ;)

Yeah, I was wondering who Dave was, and why anybody would want him messing with their MP3's. ;)

You want to save the actual linked file (the content), not the link (the path).

yeah, i understand that. but i used to be able to do the exact same thing before and it would work just fine. I tried opening the file with QT and still nothing happens. I recently updated both iTunes and QT too.
