i chat and adium problems

i've been away for about 7 months and i haven't been using my computer. all of a sudden now when i open adium or i chat, it bounces in the dock and then a lil thing pops up and says the program has quit unexpectedly. i tried deleting the i chat **** in the library preferences but that didn't work. any ideas guys?

dust?? well everything else works.. cept that.. so i doubt its dust.
