So I'm browsing the web lying down in bed, with my laptop on my chest. Click on a link in firefox, and... my computer shuts down and won't turn back on. I got up and went to my desk and plugged it in, and this time it booted up just fine, but as soon as I unplug it, it shuts down again. I've taken out and put the battery back in numerous times. I just had the battery warrantied to deal with poor health (it was down to 35% health after 100 cycles... 6 months) and now this.
I've reset the PRAM, and done everything else I could think of. The weirdest thing is that the battery still shows full charge if I push the batt test button (I get full green lights on it) and it still shows as 95% in the menubar (and does the usual slow charge up to 100% then back down to 95%). If I pull the battery while it's running, the icon changes to an 'X', but it goes back to normal once the battery is back in.
So the computer works when powered by cable. The battery has charge, and is recognized by the computer. The computer simply refuses to draw power from the battery.
Any ideas? I guess I'll be sitting with customer service later today and see what they have to say.
