I try not to throw out the "hate" word very much, but in this case, I think it's totally appropriate.
I used to have a few radio stations in iTunes until it was killed off by Apple Music, so I gave them my credit card hoping it would make everything all better... But things only got worse.

My request is a very simple one:I just want to listen to Muse all day long, but  Music has it's own agenda, which is to play the same 3 Muse songs (M-m-m-m-m-Madness) over and over with a splash of White Stripes and Weezer. It doesn't matter what song I create a station from or what songs I like/Dislike, the end result is always the same.

I know Apple Music has the entire Muse catalog because if I search for a specific song by name, it will come up and I can play it- but  Apple Music is not interested in playing songs off of 2001 Origin of Symmetry or 2003 Absolution, all Apple Music cares about is playing "Dead Inside" and "Madness"... It litterally IS madness... More like like M-m-m-m-m-Matt Damon!

I think it's worthwhile to avoid Apple Music for a year or so. I'm sure they'll get it right at some point, but for now it's not worth the trouble.

After trying it, having tried and used the other options, I don't hate Apple Music, I simply don't like it. It's unfinished, buggy, but in fairness to Apple it's no different than any of their other questionable launches like maps.

Once in awhile Apple gets in a rush, over hypes a product or service, then we the public find out at our own expense just how rough it is. Nothing horrible, just a waste of time.

I can understand people coming here to share their experiences, etc. However the rants and hate is really not necessary. If you don't like something, Okay that's fine. But ranting on and spewing hate is just not right. Drop AM and be done with it.

Yeah, radios don't just play all the songs by an artist. They play songs that sound similar to the artist, including some of the artist's songs. I agree with the suggestions to make a playlist of Muse songs and shuffle that.

This. If the OP wants to listen to nothing but Muse, shuffle the artist. That's not how the radio stations works. There is a reason they are referred to as radio.

I think Rdio will let you create stations and only play the artist's songs. But Apple Music has no such option.

If people don't rant on about it, nothing will ever get fixed.

I've used apple's feedback many, many times for other apps and nothing gets fixed.

Only when there is an outcry do Apple listen.

Apple Music is woeful at the moment.

People, keep on ranting!

The OP seems to have vanished. I would have suggested that mixed playlists from the OP's library and Apple Music (yes, requiring turning on the cloud) might have been a better idea here than just counting on Radio to do what he wanted. Hating Apple Music because Radio doesn't duplicate its offerings and functions is... unkind, let's say.

Couldn't you create a playlist in Apple Music, add all of Muse's songs to it, and then just run the playlist?
That's what I thought, but I couldn't figure out how to get the songs into the playlist. I was on my iPhone, but I'll try it on my Mac this weekend

That took all of 5 seconds. I hate iTunes too because its is so versatile. :D

That's the whole problem, iPhone/iPad does not have iTunes anymore! It's been replaced with  Music and in it is a maze of stupid features like "pick your 3 favorite", but you don't like any of the bands in the list listed and there's no option to search for the artist!

That's a pretty cool selection you've got going on there @Julien :)

I clicked away 30 Dutch artists (since I live in the Netherlands I MUST love Dutch artists...) then kinda gave up and accepted everything that wasn't a Dutch artist. I was hoping for Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Suzanne Vega, Madonna (little known artist) but I kept on getting Herman Brood, Acda en de Munnik and similar. I thought I could repair the damage later by hearting half of my library, but when Apple Music insulted me by suggesting on the same day that I listen to Kanye West, follow that with some Celine Dion and add Sting as a dessert...

...if anybody needs help downgrading iTunes to 12.1 on a Mac, PM me.

if Apple had the entire music catalog we can all sing...

But its not that easy...

WWDC stated incorrectly "stream the millions and millions of songs in *iTunes* (we take that as in the itunes store)

That's not correct..

I don't see anything from Toploader except 1 song.. also 1 in the itunes store... Culture club remixes are another..

edits: I still like those bubbles

Apple Music is a joke, it's a way to fleece consumers of $120 a year for the same features they have in iTunes for free.

Avoid at all costs.

Mind you, while your suggestion is completely legit, it also translates as "don't use Apple Music".
You can create a playlist with all Muse songs with Apple Music as well. This works with whatever you use as your source for music.

Are you new to the world? How do you play an album (or any specific track) you don't buy in iTunes for "free"?

There are two things that Apple Music represents, let's look at each one individually so you understand:

1. "Radio" In iTMS, it's called "iTunes Radio". In an app, it's called Pandora. In Apple Music it's called "For You", "Playlists", and "New". There is nothing that Apple Music can do in these various versions of "Radio" that iTunes Radio and Pandora can't do for free.

2. "Library" In iTMS, it's called "paid downloads". In Apple Music it's called "offline". iTMS it costs $1 per song. Apple Music it costs $120 a year. Both do the same thing, both cost money, just one is a hell of a lot more money.

So, when I say that iTunes and Apple Music are the same thing just marketed differently and all the 'great' features of Apple Music are currently available for free that's what I'm talking about. "For You", "Playlists", and "New" is just marketing nonsense that translates to "iTunes Radio Custom Stations" which cost nothing. "Offline" is just marketing nonsense that translates to "sucker, you just paid $120 a year for the rest of your life for Feel My Face ha ha".
