I've been after a 'perfect' pair of headphones all year.
Once I experienced the H1 chip in my AirPod Pros, I realised I'm all-in with this ecosystem.
My mum kindly bought me a pair of Beats Solo Pro headphones on sale for £159 for Christmas for me (they're waiting, wrapped-up).
I've been tempted to ask her to return them and I'll add £400 to get a pair of AirPod Maxes.
But here are my conclusions...
My Beats Solo Pro will still be a better choice to wear skateboarding, or for short trips in a rucksack.
And in one year from now I'll have a better pair of AirPod Maxes and a solid pair of Solo Pros as backup.
Does that sound like solid reasoning?

But here are my conclusions...
- I'm happy to pay £550 for 'the ultimate headphones'...
- But V1 - V2 is usually the biggest jump for any Apple gear.
- We've already heard that multiple features were scrapped to get these out in time.
- A 'sports' Airpod Max is more likely to match my aesthetic.
- I'll need a new Apple TV to get Spatial Audio on my projector.
- My Beats won't be wasted... they're on-ear and far lighter/more compact.
My Beats Solo Pro will still be a better choice to wear skateboarding, or for short trips in a rucksack.
