I did it - I ordered the MacBook Pro!

Hello everyone, after all my questions on this forum I gave in and ordered my very first Apple computer. I am soooo excited!

I ordered the MacBook Pro 17" with High Resolution Glossy Screen, 160gb with 7200 rpm and that is about it, oh yeah I can't forget about the Red iPod Nano for back to school deal. Yes I splurged but I seriously needed a new lappy.

My order is coming from China in reference to the iPod, my notebook has not shipped yet, since I ordered it two days ago, and with customizations I will give it some time. Should I be concerned about China in reference to my lappy? Will I get the LG screen (better screen) or does it not matter ? How are the screens on the 17"?

I hope I did well with my selection, I was getting tired of my lappy that is falling apart, screws everywhere and my a/c adapter is working off and on and my screen is off and wires are exposed everywhere,dangerous to say the least.

I sure hope its worth it to get now than the Leopard. I thought real hard about waiting and thought its best to get a lappy with a full functioning operating system than to splurge on Leopard.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for all your advice, you are the most helpful people in any forum out there.

I just got an update and it's coming from Alaska! So, expect yours to do the same.
 
Congratulations. You got my dream MBP. Still knocking it around
about exactly what and when to get one, but I'm going to gut it out until October at least.

Have fun with it.

Don't wait too long,that is what I had wanted to do but my current lappy is on the fritz and so I had not choice but to give in. I believe I made the right decision. I can always buy the software to update my lappy with in a year, when alll the quirks are out of it.
 
Congrats on your first :apple:. I took the plunge myself last November and I'm loving my MBP. currently I'm debating a MacMini for a media "server" or replacing my desktop. (actually wanting to get rid of Windows completely)

From experience I want to offer 1 piece of advice, play all you want (install/remove programs/try new things out) on your MAC, but keep a backup of all your data. After you settle in and get comfortable with OS X do a fresh install to make sure everything keeps running smooth. I kinda hosed things messing with terminal. :rolleyes:
 
Congratulations!

I'm getting my fourth one today - please keep your fingers crossed that it will ok with no yellow and no other defects....
