I found I have a faulty switch on the Keychron, naturally it it the right hand shift key. I tried to signed with my password and it would not take it, it was the correct one. It does not help when you cannot see what you have typed. this got me in the lock down mode. Went to recovery mode and was unable to enter my Apple ID now I am in account recovery mode. All because of a single switch on a Keychron keyboard.

I loaded an app to allow me to use the keyboard on the iPad on the Mac Studio. At least there I don't have to worry about a switch screwing me over.

I realized that nothing had changed and my original password was still good so I went into safe mode and managed to sign back in and while I was there, and since I was locked out of the back of the Mac studio for another three hours, I decided to just go ahead and reload a new copy of Sequoia and so that’s where I’m at now the indicator says I’m 15 hours and 55 minutes from a full reload, thanks to this crummy DSL connection I have, but everything is back up and sort of gone, and now that I know that my monitor for some unreason goes into a test mode that I didn’t know it had I will know that I have to sort of turn it back on in order to see the screen so I’m not gonna be caught by that again anyway onward through the fog.

I am starting to get past this but for decades it was doing battle with demon Windows machines. Like others I had decided these demons from hell were not going to defeat me. Calling Microsoft was like visiting the gas stoned Oracle of Delphi. You were on your own especially if you assembled your own. My Mac Studio is only the 2nd “store bought” system I have ever owned. It is almost disorienting to have competent customer support.
