I don't care what the deal is with Hulu not being on ATV yet. Roku has it, iPhone has it, iPad has it, My xbox 360 has it...

I use Hulu a lot on my xbox, but I would love to have it on my ATV that is just an extra device for the bed room.

Sorry Apple, but you have to be out of your mind to think I am going to buy TV shows at 2.99 a pop. Thats ludicrous to think someone would actually buy seasons like that when they are given to you on websites like NBC, ABC, CBC, Hulu and others for a low rate or even free!

Most shows are, lets say.... 20 episodes? That is 2.99x20 = About $60 dollars a season. And none of us watch only one show, so you need to times the 60 by whatever else...

Either get Hulu on the apple tv or figure out your own subscription based service.

You can watch Hulu (free) OR Hulu Plus on your Apple TV 2 right now (and hopefully the Apple TV3 within a month or two when firecore jailbreaks it).

Here are the instructions to get it working:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1305573/

If you don't want to jailbreak, you can use AirParrot to mirror your mac's screen and audio to the ATV, allowing you to watch to Hulu or Hulu+ via your computer web browser, mirrored to your ATV
http://airparrot.com/

Finally, you will be able to watch Hulu on your ATV via the mac airplay mirroring that will come built-in to Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion, when it releases this summer.

I agree it would make sense for Apple to build in an Hulu Plus app to the Apple TV, but I got tired of holding my breath waiting for Apple to give me what I want. I've been watching Hulu (free Hulu, since I'm not a plus subscriber) on my ATV for about 6 months now. It works great and costs no money to set up.

To each his own.

Posting on Macrumors will do nothing. Posting on http://www.apple.com/feedback will.

Also did you ever think maybe Apple has no say in it?

Content providers hold all the cards when it comes to things like this. If they don't want Hulu to be able to stream to one of the most popular streaming devices out there they can stop it from happening, just like back in the day when Amazon was allowed to sell DRM free music but iTunes wasn't.

This is most likely a content provider + hulu thing more than it is an Apple + hulu thing.

Just did. Thanks for the reminder and LINK.

I believe this is what they are working on doing.
Agreed, but we having been hearing this since Apple TV 1. They really need to get it done. I gave up waiting an bought a ROKU Box and I already had 3 Apple TV'S. I ripped 180 DVD's plus purchase some HD Movies on iTunes. I got the ROKU Box for all of the other things such as HULU. And I do understand you can Jailbreak it but really just prefer not doing that (not sure exactly why, maybe just hoping I would not have too after seeing they added NetFlix and other things).

I believe Apple is holding off because Hulu is US only. Every other service they currently offer on the Apple TV is available internationally.

Was Netflix considered International when it was added to Apple TV 2. Looks like it was only US and Canada.

NETFLIX WEB SITE:

2010 – Netflix launches in Canada.
2010 – Netflix ends year with 20 million members, up 63 percent from 2009.
2011 – Netflix launches throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
2012 – Netflix launches in the United Kingdom and Ireland

Wikipedia:
Netflix streaming integration was added in the September 2010 revision.

Canada counts as international! We still don't have Hulu here in the Great White North.

AirPlay mirroring hulu plus from my iPhone worked pretty well actually. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing. That would be my recommendation.

There must be something going on with Hulu and apple we don't know. First Hulu is no US only it is in Japan as well. Second even if it was US only why is Netflix on Apple tv before it branched out?

Hulu used to have AirPlay and it was pulled, why?

You cannot mirror Hulu from an ipad2 but can only play via the hdmi connection kit and only in SD, why?

And then the kicker is why can I have Hulu built into my tv, wii, Xbox, Kindle Fire and even my kids nintendo 3ds but I cannot AirPlay from my iPhone?

Just doesn't make sense. Hulu is everywhere, it cannot be just about AirPlay to a tv as there are already tons of ways to get it on your tv.

No this must be a money issue between Hulu and apple. Because the restrictions just don't add up.

As for the jailbreak to get Hulu, works fine only if you live in the US, it doesn't work with Hulu Japan.

Hulu on a jail broken ATV2 just sucks. The interface is nowhere as nice as on the Roku, nor as on their website. A native ATV interface is sorely needed. I haven't touched my ATV2 since I got my Roku, except to try and get Hulu by jail breaking which lasted two days.

The AppleTV is such a good product but the reason I don't have it on every TV is precisely because it lacks Hulu.
