Since ios 11, my iphone 6 plus, won’t notify me (randomly) about calls. No notification in lock screen or home screen and no red number mark on phone app.

Do not disturb is off, notifications are set to permanent, but no luck, people have to text me to tell me they are calling me. I will then open phone app, and missed calls do appear on the log. I should mention i also have wifi calling on. Does anybody get that behavior - any suggested fixes?

Are you using any other devices that are connected the phone (like let's say Apple Watch or iPad with continuation/handoff)?

I do have an ipad with handoff but receiving calls on closeby devices is already turned off.

Is it all the time and have you tried turning off WiFi calling to see if it still does it?

It’s really random, some days i get call notifications and sometimes i don’t..

I can try turning off wifi calling but then reception will be so bad (it’s a carrier thing where i live) so calls won’t even come through without wifi calling ( so i really couldn’t stay without it for long. I used to have a second phone for that, which i ditched when my carrier enabled wifi calling).

I tried to reproduce this error some times with a friend calling me, wifi off, i got all of the notifications.

Honestly the times this happened so far, when i do find out about it, i launch phone app and it feels like it had crashed in the background, it takes an unusual time to load and switching between tabs is sluggish for a while.

P.s. Thanks for your suggestions and willingness to help.

Yeah if it’s not happening all the time it’s tricky to test WiFi calling.
It’s a tricky one. My gut feeling says is something to do with handover from carrier to iOS but not sure what/which side is at fault. WiFi calling feels like a potential weak point as it’s not as well established as the traditional method. But Can’t help much, sorry. Try raising with carrier?
