Hi, I am in a position to no longer be able to reset pram, nvram, macOS recovery, OS High sierra installation

The problem is that every execution wants to do by turning off Mac Pro 5.1 and holding down key composition or single key, I feel it starts up but the monitor remains black without showing me the screen

I do not understand if due to having transferred ssd with system on pcie card, or the new 4k Lg monitor that if started system normally ok, if with key combination .... nothing remains black

Do you have any idea?

Thanks so much

What's your GPU? What is the display connection, resolution, refresh rate?

You only have pre-boot configuration support (boot screens/boot picker/etc) with an AppleOEM or a a flashed GPU and even with pre-boot configuration support, some DisplayPort connections and display resolutions/frequencies don't work at all.

AppleOEM GPUs only work for pre-boot configuration support with DP1.1, DP1.2 and newer won't work.

Mac Edition GPUs (eVGA GTX 680 and Sapphire HD 7750 and basically every PC GPU flashed with the MacEFI extracted from the Mac Editions) also have issues with some 4K resolutions when the display is running more than 30Hz refresh rate.

AFAIK, this display won't work with your GPU for pre-boot configuration support, see why on my previous post, it's DP1.4.

so the only solution is to replace the cable, connecting it with one but mini displayport to hdmi?
or do i have to use old hd tv to do this step?

if I change the video card with a rx 580, will I be able to execute these commands at startup?

You gonna have to test, you are running out of spec and will have to find what works or not. Maybe the display have a DP1.1 downgrade setting, several models have.

I don't think that moving to HDMI will work since you are using a mini-DP adapter from the start on the HD 5770, but you surely can test and confirm/disprove.

Yes, if the RX 580 is Mac EFI flashed. If not you can run OpenCore and have pre-boot configuration support via OpenCore GOP support.

OpenCore requires that the GPU have a working GOP firmware, mining cards are firmware modded and GOP stops working with any mod. So, be careful if you are buying a used GPU - you probably will need to re-flash the card original firmware.

solved with the method you advised me Tsialex .... I set dp 1.1 on the monitor and then booted from usb high sierra for a s.o.s check on the ssd with operating system

I worship you Tsialex :)

i tried reset pram nvram, but i didn't hear the double bong

I think I made a mistake in a few steps with ssd mounted on pcie owc, I had only unmounted from a baya and mounted on pcie
it gives me an idea that it was better to format it on pcie (removing all internal hd and peripherals) and install osx from usb on pcie ssd
