I call apple everyday and they have some units in stock, but why does it always say ipad won't ship out for 7-10 business days? Anybody ordered an ipad recently and got it sooner than they expected?

The stores get a trickle of units on a near-daily basis. "7-10 days" is a pretty standard quote for delivery from the online store and it's occasionally quicker.

Depending on where you are, and how popular it is, some stores have them in stock, while others are sold out and the ipads that do trickle are given to people who put themselves on a waitlist first. It really comes down to the demand at each particular store. I tried a couple stores but they were all sold out, so I just ordered online and it was delivered in about 8 days...

It says now order will be shipped out on July 15th and I will get it by July 20th. GOD DAMN U, APPLE! What happened to 7-10 days? Please move that date up.

business days.

edit: nm, you're right that's quite the delay.

I hope you are not being sarcastic. I just want my ipad.

ah sweet hope.

i'm not being sarcastic. i'm saying even with the fact that it's 7-10 business days, that's still a longer time frame than quoted on the site.

There is nothing like walking into a shop and buying something and being happy walking out with it without having to wait... this considerable delay is a worst case scenario, as Amazon posts a dispatch date that is considerable late and my orders always arrive within 2 days, not their 7-10 day suggestion

Actually that is about 10 business days away including Monday being a holiday ( July 4 for those here in the states... ) July 1,2,6,7,8,9,12,13,14,15. That is what they quoted me but it was shipped a week later and arrived before it was originally scheduled to be shipped... It's easier to quote the longer time and being early than saying it will be later and it will arrive early... ;-)
