I went to sell my Ipad on ebay in anticipation of the next generation coming out soon. I listed it with a but it now that comes out to $425. It sold within 2 minutes of me listing it. I'm not going to leave it JB, I will restore it to whatever itunes does with it when I clear the memory. I listed it as shipping to USA only. The kid who bought it is within the USA. He paid instantly with paypal, the address is confirmed.

I don't understand why he wouldn't just buy it off apple refurb site. It was just the 16 mb, wifi version. For a few extra bucks he would have been set with a 1 yr warranty. I just checked and their selling it for more then what I listed it at.

I just don't get it. Maybe there is a market here that I am missing?

On the other hand it only cost me $75 to use the Ipad for a year. I'm quite happy.

Not everyone is familiar with the refurb store and some don't want "refurbished" thinking that means the product will come to them damaged as in "scratch and dent". The ebay community is not always comprised of educated buyers.

Plus, you should wait and see if he pays $$. There's been a number of people who do that buy it now and don't hand over the $$.

As for ebay, people get lost in the moment and when they believe they see a deal, they rush to get it, before someone else does, before really thinking about it.

he paid instantly, I already transferred the fund to my bank account.

I was thinking maybe there is a resale potential out there for these things that I didn't know about.

It's probably just a kid that doesn't know what it's worth. Either that or he plans to resell it overseas somewhere where they are not officially available.
