I have turned on that Siri reads messages as they come. It's quite convenient, even if I hate her voice (it's really not very good in Swedish).

However, when someone reacts to a message that I have sent, she insists on reading up my entire message that I wrote! It's extremely annoying and unnecessary – I know what I wrote to that person a minute ago!?

Is there any way to turn this part of "Siri reading messages" off?

Example: I write: "Hey darling, I thought we should go to IKEA and look at that new sofa this weekend, would that be fine with you? ❤️?"

Ten seconds later Siri tells me: "MIRIAM GAVE A HEART TO YOUR MESSAGE HEY DARLING I THOUGHT WE SHOULD GO TO IKEA AND LOOK AT THAT NEW SOFA THIS WEEKEND WOULD THAT BE FINE WITH YOU QUESTION MARK HEART EMOJI AND AN EMOJI WITH A PARTY FACE"

Seriously (or maybe Siriously)? Why don't some people at Apple think? I understand that you want to hear your message repeated if a day has gone bye, or maybe a couple of hours. But a couple of seconds? Or minutes? You probably know what you wrote to that person 30 seconds ago, right?

However, I may have missed something. Please enlighten me! :)

Maybe, but the duration is subjective. Someone else may have written 15 messages in that period. Another person might have written a single message five minutes ago, and recalls in a moment’s notice. Apple could implement a time choice menu. However, as is, Apple’s decision to always provide context is far more ideal than assuming a duration.

Of course it's subjective. That's why I was looking for a preference to turn this off.

However, I bet there are 90% more people that would like to have a "Cheetah gave a a thumbs up to your recent message" than the current stupid and time-consuming solution.

Furthermore, you could also look at it the other way: If you want to know what message that was replied to, just look at your device.
