I don't want to see those two bars on my Home Screen. Is there a way to hide them?

I'm sick of sticking tapes over them and my phone ends up looking ridiculous or like I'm mentally deranged.

I want my home screen to be as distraction free as I personally want.

Is there a way to do this? If not-- how can I jailbreak my phone to do this and what are the risks.

Thanks.

🤔

Not happening, pretty sure there ain’t a jailbreak for the latest software, even if there was, I wouldn’t install it, you’ll end up compromising the security of your device.

Stick with the tape.

I don't know what to do. I just don't want to see those status icons on my home screen. I know this sounds stupid and bizarre and ridiculous to most people. I just feel so distracted while working constantly checking the service bar and wifi. I just want to remove the distraction. Are there any alternative methods?

Doubt it, try and focus your attention on the middle of the screen instead of the top of the screen.

Not going to happen, they will always be there. So you have two choices as I see it, learn to live with it or get help as to why it distracts you so much. There is obviously a reason, and you don’t need us or anyone else telling you it’s not normal behaviour, so it would be beneficial for you to find out what it is. My guess is some form of OCD. Good luck

Might have good luck with this type of screen protector that already has black edges, so you can increase the black area and it should blend in well.

So it’s just the connectivity bars but not the battery percentage or time on the other side… and to the point that a piece of tape is less distracting? Fascinating!

Let him be. He's not harming anyone. Maybe he's fixated on his battery percentage or always checking how many bars he has. Maybe it actually is annoying to him.

99.99% of people don't mind them and find them useful, but he clearly does not like them so we tried to offer reasonable solutions he can try.

Absolutely… I wasn’t trying to be insulting. I meant fascinating from a possibly mental/medical perspective.

You could get a screen protector and paint a portion of it at the top to hide stuff without using tape.
That’s an excellent idea. I have a black iPhone 12 Mini in a black case and use the Dark theme. I recently renewed my screen protector, an “ ESR” one which comes with an application frame. I can see how it would be straightforward to apply a coating such as a Matt black nail varnish to the protector before installation.

What phone and OS are you on? The only way to get rid of anything like that would be to jailbreak, don’t listen to anyone telling you not to, it’s your device, you can do whatever you want with it.

Come to think of it, personally I never really thought about it. For the most part I couldn't care less, but given how tiny those icons are it would be ridiculous to remove them and not be able to know when your mobile or wifi signal is poor so you know the reason your apps are not loading...?

maby you could be mentally deranged if those bothers you so much that you want tape over them ^^
