Between the lag on address book and the fact that my Apps kept crashing and bringing me back to the home screen I went to The Local Apple store and the Genius gave me a brand new phone with 1.1.4 software on it. I won't switch back to the new software until they fix all the bugs in their software. Even in Safari it would "pop" every few minutes. If things don't improve I will keep my phone the way it is indefinitely. I will miss the improved Google Maps and the search function in Address book but at least the darn thing won't keep crashing. Now I have to figure out if they will refund me the portion of .Mac I haven't used?

One of the helpers commented that the problems are more pronounced on the older iPhones with the new software. The 3.0 phones seem to handle the software better. This leads to me believe that staying with the older software package may be the wisest choice indefinitely.

This is not the kind of situation I expected from Apple. More and more everyday they are turning into MS.

Posts like this reassure me that staying with 1.1.4 is the right decision for now. I want to upgrade but 2.0 has far too many bugs.

I actually am very happy with 2.0 even with my App troubles

I find that I have fewer Safari crashes and most of my Apps work fine

The lag is annoying but it isnt something that destroys my ability to text or call

For the most part I'm pretty happy with my upgraded iPhone. Yeah, the lag is annoying, but I can live with it.

Yeah? I have considered upgrading but for the most part I haven't decided. I would like the App Store and a jailbroken phone at the same time but because of the minor bugs and lag, I think I'll hold out. What's supposed to be released next? iPhone OS 2.0.1 or 2.1?

Any idea how soon a fix will be issued?

You mean u had a 1st gen iphone and took it back and they replaced it with a refurbished 1st gen iphone?

I was given a new 1st Gen Phone. Right out of the box. Apparently Apple has a bunch of these for problems like mine.

Between the crack on the housings and all the software problems I will wait awhile before updating the software and I will stay far away from the new iPhones.

The bottom line for me is, the App Store kicks ass

I play the games every day and use other apps every day

I miss the apps I had on my iPhone but they were not worth the hassles I had. I really liked AOL Radio. I used it to stream Thom Hartmann's show every day on the road.

Oh well. I'll just have to wait until Apple gets their act together.

the lags not even that bad, but to each his own.

Mine was flipping back to the Home Screen too. If it just was the lags I could of dealt with it.

Apple knows it messed up and I can't imagine they will go another week with bad software.
