Yesterday my YouTube encountered the common problem of YouTube not available so i called apple and managed to get through to the chief engineer in Greece. Turned on my iPad this morning and YouTube now works perfectly.

My advice if you hav any problems call them and they will fix it!
:D

instead of calling Apple in "Greece" to "fix" youtube just open up youtube in Safari

I wanna use the app! And I called apple uk and Greece called me back to get the details of the problems so they could fix it.

No he wasn't on holiday that was the engineers bass for some reason.
No I won't give his phone number.
I gave him the code for my specific iPad and he told me that it would be fixed soon I didn't do anything specific they fixed it for me.
Calll the apple support line tell them your unique code keep on the phone till they put you through to the engineer he will take your code then it will be fixed in a few hours.
I think they said that they are going to fix it for every one soon but that may take time so if u want yrs fixed then call

Something seems... I dunno, weird about this.

Id like to know what 'they' are going to 'do' that 'they' cant 'do' now or should have 'done' before.

Is it a firmware, software, server ware thing or just waving a chickens foot over a bit of paper with your code on it???

HAHA. He fixed yours. And he accidentally fixed mine, too. It is working even I didn't call him. thank you!!! :D

What benefit do I get from lying??
Hopefully they will fix this problem for everyone I'm just telling you my personal experience.

Never had a problem to begin with. Even HD movies load fairly quickly... I guess my internet is fast enough.

There could have been a DNS problem involving the OP's internet region which prevented accessing the server. This problem could have been corrected based on the OPs reporting of the problem. This would not involve any correction on the iPad.

The story is quite plausible.

Note: the considerable majority of iPad users are not having problems with youTube and don't need a fix.

Mine worked before and one day it just didn't. I don't mind since I don't watch YouTube all that much even though I upload quite often and have a ton of subscribers. :D

No one, or at least Im not accusing you of lying, dear Sir. I just find it weird that the way you explained it was that some guy in Greece did something that made something in your iPad go all better & now your Youtube app is the sh*ts & all we had to do to make our Youtube the Youtubiest was call some guy in...

Well, anyway jimHdk sort of gave an explanation I could get my head around.

So, my apologise if I offended... :D
