First of all , let's all be in the clear.
This subject has been repeatedly brought up everywhere.

I wanna see if you found your culprits and how?

Can we list the ones that we have confirmed being "the draining or conflicting tweaks " ?

Is Activator one of them? I've seen numerous posts about Activator being one of the bad guys and what is funny is that it's nearly in every jailbroken device.

Article: (from 2010)

Activator is very stable.

Try installing crash reporter.

Funny, Auxo is a confirmed culprit in safe mode crashes.... :)

A lot of people have issues with Auxo. I haven't had one springboard crash on my iPhone 5 yet. Maybe there is something else conflicting with Auxo?

Auxo is new, sir. Every new tweak has it's issues.

You for one should know!

I'm not asking for a crash reporter, I'm asking for a monitoring tweak that lets me see easily what is causing memory leaks etc. I have heard numerous times that looking at the RAM doesn't matter to that reported issue because it has nothing to do with the speed.

I wanna know what is making my springboard swipes look like the phone is under heavy load.

Usually my phone has about 3 pages (in Auxo) of applications. The iPhone 5 should be able to handle that just fine, right?

Is there any limit to when it SHOULD start showing off that the phone is under load? 10 tweaks open? 15?

Because right now I'm seeing that when I have about 7 apps running.

Or Auxo conflicting with something else, depending on which way you look at it.

I do know but not that new any more and that does not change the fact it causes crashes, i'm sure it will be ironed out but it might take some time. Springtomize was one that did the same but that seems pretty solid lately.
The latest beta (423) for LockInfo seems to cause some problems, although last weeks beta's were fine.

The article you quoted is from 2010, but does contain some good info, iOS is good at memory management, but the SBSettings trick is a real good one, i use that sometimes to single out a bad app/tweak. Mostly it will be your last update.

----------

You know how the saying goes..

"A fight needs at least two participants".

Indeed but if there are no problems before chances are that Auxo introduces an instabillity somewhere. It is impossible for a dev to test it against all other apps/tweaks so if it is not a widespread problem than the owner most decide which tweak holds more value.

My 4S is running smoothly with dozens of tweaks and open programs, my old 4 was running in to problems with the same amount of tweaks. Heavy theming will cause lack, even on a 5.

Winterboard itself is fine, just certain tweaks within WB might cause problems.

Have 5 winterboard tweaks running for a long time and they never cause any problems.

Heavy theming ? I'm strongly disliking Winterboard but yes, theming is generally something that doesn't go well together with smoothness.
Sound idea. I'll start

-Winterboard
-Auxo

Winterboard is one of the biggest thieves. Been avoiding that since like forever. Auxo, sure. It's new.

I was wondering - has iFile anything do to with memory/ram leaks? Since it's bringing alot in the package I figured, it might?

I use winterboard for a BiteSMS theme. Is there a way to use the theme without needing winterboard, so I can remove it?

The theme is BiteSMS Old School

I'm running the beta auxo and have not had any crashes or issues. The tweaks I have installed are:
Accelerate
Icleaner
Auxo
Nitrous
Ad blocker
Ad blocker network
Springtomize 2
Barrel
Zephyr
Safari download manager
User agent faker
Bitesms

Put it in manually with iFunbox ! I do that very often in order to avoid WB.

I'm running these and I can feel there is something called "lag" on the springboard swipes.

- Auxo
- BiteSMS
- iCaughtU Pro
- LowPowerBanner
- CleverPin
- Flex
- FolderEnhancer
- iCleaner
- IntelliscreenX
- DashboardX
+widget Gtrends
- NoSpot
- Activator
- Animer
- CallBar
- Ad Blocker

I mean, this is not many tweaks. It should be 100% lag free.

I have following mobilesubstrate-dependant tweaks installed on my iPhone 5 and I have had no issues at all. Battery life is only slightly decreased.

3G Unrestrictor
Activator
Applocker
Auxo
Blackout
Clock Hide
FolderEnhancer
Insomnia
Springtomize 2
Winterboard

Best guess DashboardX

I also noticed that themes tend to slow down the phone a tad bit if its a full ui theme. I use to have Infrared installed and things were either loading a little slow or wasn't being kept in memory after execution. That theme had its own screen that popped up first as well before anything you opened. I removed it and things are back on par. That theme was also based on having winterboard installed.

The tweak itself or just GTrends? I have it set on OFF for "Update Everytime" , which solely means that it's not using WIFI at all. At least that's what I think. I'm in the phase of asking the developer but he never replied on that matter.

I'd like the GTrends Widget on the homescreen just for the look. I don't need the actual news on there if it's draining the battery and making my phone sluggish.

Dashboard is old right, why isn't that fixed?

I don't avoid winterboard... since themeing is fun for me. But then again... I'm a tweak minimalist and I download only 5 tweaks that are useful to me. I don't have any issues with slow down, poor battery... and I never had one SB crash or restarts to safe mode since the evasi0n JB was first released. Well... just one crash to safe mode when gridlock wasn't updated... but not one crash after that.

DBX is the only one from your list interfering directly with the springboard that i don't have. So most logical is to checkout DBX.
Try the SBSettings trick and deactivate it and see if it improves.

You would need a LOT of editing to do this depending on the theme you have. You must copy every file from the theme to the bitesms application folder. Remove the current ones or just rename them to some unknown extension like .backup. Or you can just uninstall bitesms and reinstall it if you want to go back to stock

No guarantee it'll work though. I personally have never done something of that scale. I usually just replace an icon or two

Copy all the relevant files from the WinterBoard theme to the /bundles/com.bitesms folder. It will be permanent unless you reinstall BiteSMS.

Hmm. Alright fair .

I'm using Animate too for a animated boot logo.

I guess you don't have this either ?

Forgot to add that I installed Bolt as well in order to remove percentage and battery bar.

When I randomly use a BiteSMS theme for a couple days (I always get sick of them lol) I load the theme in BiteSMS settings and skip winterboard altogether. Is the theme you're using not built with BiteSMS's internal theming platform? Have you looked in settings>themes?

The theme doesn't run in winterboard (it's not in the list) but force-installs winterboard alongside it and will uninstall if I remove winterboard. It is applied through BiteSMS though
